Mr. Bird comes out this year with a new release after his fantastic "Misterious Production of Eggs". I searched but there was not a thread about this album yet. I just downloaded it a few hours ago and it's on repeat, it's easily the best album I heard this year (which may not seem to say much since we're on January, but it does sounds wonderful).

I have no idea.

This album feels more ambitions than his previous one. The arrangements are impressive.

Yeah, I had no idea he even had a new album in the works. I downloaded it last night but haven't listened to the whole thing yet. the song 'Armchairs' was great.

it is DEFINITELY the best thing i've heard all year, for sure...

been listening to it for about a week or so... and after about 3-4 listens, i started to realize that he may have topped Eggs, something i thought near impossible, but now i'm pretty damn sure he did...

it's shorter and more concise/consistent, and just absolutely gorgeous.

the production is nothing short of stunning either.

Heretics apparently is the first single, which is a good call, it was my early fave (and still might be). Armchairs, Simple X (go Dosh!), Plasticities, etc.

and yeah, the new version of Scythian and Dark Matter are definitely better than the Fingerlings 3 versions. the new piano + guitar intro (which reminds me of Don't Think Twice) is so great.

Armchairs reminds me of 2 different Buckley songs, Lover You Should've Come Over and Everybody Hear Wants You (just in a few phrasings)

Haley Bonar sings on at least 3 songs (most noteably Spare-Ohs)

That's one of the things that came right up to my mind when I first heard it. There are some very nice touches and little details all over this record.

Wow. I'm not even done my first listen but this is a stunning album. The songs themselves are more subdued than Eggs, but the arrangements and production are amazing. This a very melancholy record, i love it!

yeah, and it's kinda lame, especially since "I" is such a great song. no need to do it twice.

it's not lame at all. and it's not the first time he "re writes songs".
