COURTNEY LOVE 'Harassed' Outside Los Angeles Courtroom

Courtney Faces Courthouse Harasser

It looked like Tuesday would be another good day in court for embattled rocker Courtney Love at a Los Angeles court, but that was before the appearance of a man loudly accusing her of having killed her late husband, Kurt Cobain.

Richard Lee, a Seattle resident who fancies himself a documentarian and claims Love killed Cobain, even though Cobain died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound over ten years ago, approached and harassed Love outside the courtroom where she and her lawyers seemed close to winning a victory in her felony assault and drug cases.

Lee approached Courtney as she arrived with her lawyers, shouting her name, to which Love responded, "Did they just let you out of the mental hospital? Leave us alone."

"Why have you never responded to the murder allegations, Courtney?" Lee shouted.

Lee has followed Love from courtroom to courtroom over the last couple of years, prompting Courtney's outrage. On one occasion he asked her, "In 1993, did you offer [a man] fifty thousand dollars to murder your husband?" Love responded with an obscene gesture saying, "You suck so bad!"

Today, Lee's presence bothered Courtney so much that Sheriff's deputies detained and then arrested him for having an invalid press ID. "The weirdo just scares me, man," Courtney admitted to our reporter at the scene. "There's a lot of weirdoes."

Unfortunately, the drama outside overshadowed Courtney's good news inside the courtroom, her second victory in as many days following a court's approval of the return of daughter Francis Bean to Love's custody on Monday.

On Tuesday, Famed LA attorneys Howard Weitzman and Michael Rosenstein appeared close to making a deal with prosecutors that would keep the "F" word off Love's criminal record -- "F" for felony that is. "The matter was put over for thirty days, to explore a settlement," Weitzman told us. "Hopefully we'll be able to resolve it."

If the deal goes through, Love's felony assault charges would be reduced to misdemeanors and her felony drug charges would be dropped. But Courtney apparently has a problem with the offer: prosecutors reportedly want Love on tough probation, including 360 hours of community service and severe restrictions on her travel -- which could hurt her music career.

With any luck, a deal will be worked out by early February. Meanwhile, Courtney will be enjoying her reunion with daughter. Said Weitzman, "I don't think the judge would have ordered reunification with her daughter if the judge wasn't very pleased at where Courtney's life is today."

Music career? She hasn't had one of those since 1997.

She needs to to the service time, stay in the rehab program, take only her doctor prescribed RX, and move out of L.A., if not for any other reason, for the sake of her daughter. F the "music career", she's "done" anyway (her vocal cords are shot, which was pretty apparent from the solo LP). As far as the guy asking her to address the allegations, he's an idiot for even asking.

My two cents.

The over/under on Courtney's next arrest is 6 months.

I saw Hole the last time they came through Boston....no not her solo tour which was more recent.

They were TERRIBLE, she was a fucking lunatic mess. She is using all of Kurt's unpublished songs, using billy corgan to prodcue them, and calling it all her music.

Yuck.

I feel very sad for Frances Bean.

This is the most disturbing part of this article.
