Same here. I love pretty much everything they're ever released. Sun Kill Moon are a nice band too.

I've not heard Sun Kill Moon yet, what are they like? just the same as RHP?

Katy Song has to be one of the most amazing songs ever given the honor of being put on a CD

Ghosts of the Great Highway is one of my favorite albums of the 00's, but I haven't looked too far into Red House Painters yet. 'Grace Cathedral Park' is an amazing tune though.

I have a RHP CD, I don't even remember which one it is, because it stopped working like a week after I got it. So it's been sitting here for years and I still can't listen to it. Lame!

His songs whether with RHP or SKM make me sad and a bit whimsical. I love it.

I have Songs for a Blue Guitar.... awesome stuff. There is a cover of Paul McCartney's "Pretty little love song" on it that is just a masterpiece.

That's the only one I've heard, and I love it.

pretty timely bump. I've been listening to these guys a ton lately. I'd rank their albums as such

Ocean Beach
Red House Painters I
Songs For A blue Guitar
Down Colorful Hill
Old Ramon
Red House Painters II

but they're all at least very good.

I think you're safe no matter what you choose next. My personal fave is Songs for a Blue Guitar, but I think Ocean Beach and maybe II might be more your style. Might as well just get the whole catalog, but throw in the Sun Kil Moon records for good measure. :)
