Can we make this a poll, stip?
The choices:
Adam Kasper
Brendan O' Brien
Rick Rubin
Dave Fridmann
Steve Albini
Nigel Godrich
Steve Lillywhite
Brian Eno
Pearl Jam (self-produced)
Other (list a name)
I love the self-titled disc, but it wasn't because of its "hollow" and "thin" sound. The best-produced PJ disc yet is VITALOGY, but I'm not sure that's enough reason to bring back Brendan O' Brien. I want to hear what another new producer could bring to the table. The thought of Rick Rubin or David Fridmann turning the knobs makes my mouth water.

Brendan O'Brien or Butch Vig.
The Rube would be cool, too.
Or somebody unknown, new, and talented.
As long as they actually accept they are in a recording studio, and not plaiying a live show in a little room, I will be happy. Studio albums and live shows are two different things, boys. Brendan O'Brien was smart about recording everything to make it sound even and good and just slightly polished (even while retaining rawness). Seems like Adam Kasper is content to just mic everything and let it roll.

my vote is for brendan to come back. nobody has captured them properly quite like him and nick didia did. would also be curious to hear them teamed up with ken andrews or andy wallace although he just mixes mostly now.

Steve Lillywhite who produced Counting Crows Hard Candy album. That album sounds amazingly produced - every instrument is crystal clear. PJ needs production like that.
