transcript:

"you know some guys might decide that it's a little too hard it's a little too tough, it's a little too demanding..."

"I'll give you a little example...kind of sums up some things but...I got an anonymous letter...from a parent probably..."

"said 'you know...just kind of bummed out this year...the boys only get two weeks off before they start their Summer conditioning program...you know, normally they get three'."

"well we gave them a week at the start of the semester rather than the end...here's my point...okay..."

"IT'S DIVISION I FOOTBALL!!! IT'S THE BIG XII!!! IT AIN'T INTRAMURALS!!! YOU GOT TWO WEEKS AFTER FINALS!!! YOU GET A WEEK AT JULY FOURTH!!! AND A WEEK BEFORE CAMP STARTS, THAT'S A MONTH!!! THAT'S PROBABLY MORE VACATION THAN YOU GUYS GET!!! AND WE'RE A LITTLE BUMMED OUT WE DON'T GET THREE WEEKS?!"

"Go play intramurals brother..."

maybe, but in the wake of the Arkansas situation, very fitting.

It's probably just one in thousands of comments from the area but I'm not really sure why he would do it in a press conference unless he was either baited into it or he wanted it out there.

I'm sure it's frustrating for a guy who is a very good football coach to try and revive a program around a city and university who could really care less about football. Other than being in the Big 12 and D1 fooball it's a crappy job. I'd imagine most of the town hates athletes in general.

On the other hand it's another example of how parents can't cut the freaking cord. Your kid plays division 1 football and goes to a pretty good quality university for free. Yes it's difficult with scheduling, but they get a free education and all the free tutoring they can handle to essentially bankroll the other athletics in the school they still get a month off a year which is about 3 weeks more than they will get if they graduate and become employed after College. Not to mention they could parlay that college career into a pro career if they are that talented athletically and make several hundred thousand dollars to ride the pine and play special teams.

That and those comments were freaking hilarious.

People now a days are just complaining and don't want to work hard. I was watching Best Damn Sports last night and I think it was John Salley that said it. Americans are getting soft.
