Post subject: Spyware just blew up my pc - help needed!!

hey
i was asked to install some regulation "activeX control" on my pc, and did it, thinking nothing more of it. now, my homepage is an advert for a spyware company, i'm getting trojan attempts and messages saying viruses have been detected. everything i was auto logged on to (RM inc) has logged me out. Flash and Java have somehow been uninstalled (can't view youtube vids) and i'm stuck. i don't know much about computer workings, so any help is needed. i use Internet explorer, and have the latest version installed. any help would be much appreciated. thanks

spybot and hijackthis can solve any spyware problem if used togehter.

Man, During my tine in Canada, i had a computer on my bedroom that i could use as much as i wanted but when i turned it on, i found out that the pc is completly trashed by spyware, it took me a whole week to clean it, but i did it!
