If I didn't know any better, I'd say this post carries a degree of seriousness, no?
Well of your list, indie, thrash, trance and industrial are all actual genres so, and someone mentioned grunge, also a real genre.
I don't know much about how to classify music (mostly because I tend not to give a fuck), which is evident by my previous post.
I actually thought your post was semi-serious for a different reason. I though rock, rap and country were genres you didn't often use to categorize music, and thereby considered them "weird." I honestly didn't know indie was an actual genre of music.
I think I know what thrash is. But I don't have a fucking clue what trance, industrial and urban crossover are even though I apparently support artist who are examples of teh genre.

I can hardly focus if I don't know what country a band is from, if I couldn't figure out their genre I think I'd throw myself out a window due to frustration.

It's all very cut and dry for me, metal speaking, I hear it, I can tell you exactly what it is.
