Anybody a fan of these guys? I was never huge on their earlier stuff, though Meantime had quite a few great tracks. Even their most recent record had some good stuff, but it still didn't quite do it for me. No, the record i love is Aftertaste. Probably the most overlooked record in their catalogue, i fucking love every second of it. Not a single note of filler, just 13 tracks of balls-to-the-wall hard rock. It makes for a great driving record.
Also the new album, Monochrome will be released July 18 so i'm looking forward to that.
Meantime and Betty were my favorite. I never got into Aftertaste, but I didn't try very hard. I haven't heard their latest album and I didn't know they were putting out a new album. I haven't listened to them in years; I think I should give them another try.
I saw them play in '97, and they sound much heavier live than on the album. I got to meet Page Hamilton very briefly after the show. He was a nice guy.

I loved Meantime and Betty. I had Aftertaste but never listened to it much for some reason.

For all you folks who like Meantime, I strongly suggest picking up Monochrome.
The production and the drumming and the vocals all sound like old-school Helmet. Mike Jost is the drummer on this, and he's a dead-ringer for John Stanier on a number of tracks.
Really rythm-heavy, very loud. A like it a lot better than Size Matters.

i went to the warp tour in dc back in, uh, 98 maybe? blink 182, pennywise, even limp bizkit were there i think. i got my hands on a tape (!) sampler from interscope and track 4 from aftertaste was on it. i got that album a few days later and loved it. i worked my way backwards from there.
