There will be a quarterback change in the Monday Night Football broadcast booth for the 2007 season.
Ron Jaworski will join Mike Tirico and Tony Kornheiser on the ESPN telecast. Jaworski replaces Joe Theismann, who has been offered a prominent football analyst job with the network.
Michele Tafoya and Suzy Kolber will continue as sideline reporters.
"This new lineup will enhance our presentation of Monday Night Football, our most important property," Norby Williamson, executive vice president, studio and remote production, said in a statement. "Ron has covered the NFL from many different perspectives, and he is totally tied into the issues and trends from around the league.
"We appreciate the work Joe has done for 19 years and continue to talk with him about another high-profile football role with ESPN."
Jaworski, who played 17 years in the NFL, most notably as quarterback of the Eagles, joined ESPN in 1990. He has been a prominent NFL analyst for the network and his studio duties will now be spread among ESPN's other NFL analysts, including newcomers Emmitt Smith and Bill Parcells.
Theismann, a storied quarterback in Redskins history, was the NFL's MVP in 1983 and led Washington to victory in Super Bowl XVII.
Last season, ESPN's coverage of Monday Night Football was the most-watched series in the history of cable television and the only NFL series nominated for a 2007 Sports Emmy in the Outstanding Live Sports Series category.
Nine of the top 10 on the list of cable television's biggest household audiences ever came from ESPN's coverage of Monday Night Football in 2006, including the Giants-Cowboys game on Oct. 23, 2006, which ranks No. 1 all-time with a 12.8 rating.

This is really a toss up because I find both of them to be two of the most annoying people ever.

Yeah since they show everything but the game, the only thing I am hoping for during the 2007 MNF broadcasts is for them to have Bill Clinton in the booth discussing Hilary's run at the Oval Office. And as they cut to commerical, you can vaguely see Bonnie Bernstein coming out from under the broadcast table.

how dont you guys like jaws? he gives the most in-depth analysis of football by anyone on the espn.
The only thing I can think of is his presentation is a bit annoying, with the excessive enunciating.
But you're right in that he knows his shit. The only time he goes astray is when he professes his excessive man-love towards anything related to Dick Vermeil. He always gave him preference when Vermeil was coaching.

Jaws is just a loudmouth who thinks he knows it all. he thinks he is funny also.

His voice irritates me. He highly overrates himself. And I tend to disagree with him a lot of the time. Tho anytime he would disagree with Michael Irvin, I'll take his side every time.

jaws, vermeil, and i forgot who the play-by-play guy was for the second monday night game opening weekend last season, they were great. they were ten times better than the "number one" crew. i think jaws will do well, the problem is the other two guys in the booth.

I think it was Nessler?
I'm willing to give Kornheiser another chance, as most of his problems were linked to Theisman.

i think you mean john clayton, boss.
i know who he was talking about, i was just busting balls. but still, everything clayton talks about is related to personnel, jaws actually talks about the game of football, and does so awesomely in my opinion
