I don't say shit like this often, but I don't mind admitting that this is one of my favorite songs of all time.

For some reason, I find myself completely engaged with every single aspect of this song. The instrument variety, the addicting riff in the chorus, the backing vocals, the bridge and the delayed outro are just written with such perfection. It's as if it has the ideal balance - it contains enough additions and changes to demonstrate that it is something more than a traditional rocker, but it isn't overblown with hacky experimentation. Not to sound like a bad cliche, but it is a simple tune that ius very complex at the same time. I really don't think a 3.5 minute rock song can get any more interesting than this. I'm also really drawn to the lyrics for some reason. Is it about friendship, taking it easy, overstaying welcomes or is it just a bunch of crap written by some dudes who were on God knows what? I don't know, and I'll never be able to explain why, but, "I don't know why you say goodbye, I say hello," seems to hold so much meaning.

To me, this is a track which confirms that The Beatles are as great as everyone says they are.

I was conceived when this song was a hit. And when I was born it was "Love Child" :)

groetjes,
Mirella :)

I'm going to be honest. It's one of my least favorite Beatles songs.

I don't like the outro but it's otherwise a perfect song.

the riff in the chorus is a truly clever use of the major scale from bottom to top, now that's quite something when you think about it.

Fun song, but it's in the middle as far as Beatles songs go.

It's probably my favorite Beatles song (next to Penny Lane), except for the outtro, which I don't like very much.

This and Penny Lane are the reason I like MMT so much, despite the weak songs on it.

Scary... exactly how I feel.

And I actually agree with mowbs about the lyrics. You know I rarely pay attention to them, but for some reason the line "I don't know why you say goodbye, I say hello" is so simple yet really powerful.
