Awesome, the big question mark was the bullpen, good thing they did nothing to help. Looking forward to a season full of games like today and almost making the playoffs again!!
Not hitting in the clutch in late innings is another Phillies favorite.

I hope to see said bullpen problems live and in person Friday night. Opening night for me Marlins.

Brian McCann is freaking ridiculous!!!!
Cole Hamels looked fabulous though Phils fans, I think you should mainly be concerned with Tom Gordon sucking.
and ryan madson has 2 losses in the first 2 games of the season
not to go crazy on Charlie Manuel, but Madsen was probably in their way to long, and WTF was the catcher doing there running at second as the winning run with Rollins up? They couldn't pinch run???
Hamels and Madsen looked solid to me, and that pitch that Psyco Thorman hit wasn't a bad pitch.
I couldn' t believe two days in a row the Braves bullpen could best Howard and Chase Utley when it counted, Mcbride saved Paronto last night.

Hamels only pitched 110 pitches and gave up 0 runs, I don't think he was in too long. He is an absolute stud, as is Myers. Both of them deserved W's.
I thought about the batting order and decided that I don't like Howard in front of Utley for one reason. Howard clogs up the bases in front of him, Utley is one of the best baserunners in the league, having Howard in front of him cheats the team out of runs.
We also have too many players who strike out a bunch. They will probably lead the league in K's by a wide margin and still be top 3 in runs. Its frustrating watching them leave so many runners on base.

I'm sorry, I meant Madsen not Hamels. Madsen looked pretty good too I think he was just a little unlucky.
I agree with that too, unless Howard hits a ton of HR's it kind of wastes Utley's baserunning ability.

Word up! I love this kid. Francourer has been great in the clutch as well. He might strike out a ton, but he always seems to get the hit when we need it. I'm pretty sure he led the league in 2 out RBI last year.
