that's quite shocking how the host is so frank about his feelings regarding Pink Floyd's performances - and although he's kind of an asshole, it made me sad about the fact that nowadays, talk-show hosts are just licking the invitees asses and/or being funny...

i think it was really great considering the era they were in - it's no hippie's stuff, it's something else and Barrett's guitar playing is unique.

Not right away they weren't. The first years after Syd were a pretty consistent evolution of sound. Even Dark Side probably fits in with it.

Wow, do you really think so? I don't hear that at all, especially with DSoTM. But I'm a huge Piper at the Gates of Dawn fan, so I may just hear two entirely different bands for that reason.

Originally Syd left for a while to "recover" with the intention of coming back. As we all know it didn't work out. That's why the name didn't change.

I dont really agree with him about the reppetition, I hear plenty of impovasation and variation in the composition. its a rediculas thing to critique someone for being too loud.
