don't bother

when i saw you
your mess of a room
you picked up all the trash
from the things you use

french books on the floor
hall of shut doors
everything that you learned
couldn't translate you
couldn't translate you

you tried to escape
the world that you hate
all you could hear was the
silent sound of doom
silent sound of doom

i didn't want things to go this way
could i make happy the rest of your days
i'll find another, please don't bother
not that you would

the stars on the wall
left by somebody else
your plastic cup's
severed heads hang on your shelf

you're a woman now
but you fear like a child
suddenly i get it now
you are young and old
all at once
you are young and old
all at once

*edit - i updated a lyric

questions? comments? complaints? compliments? jihads?

hey, man, i loved the lyrics. it's good but kinda weird when it feels like someone's been reading your journal...

couldn't listen to the song, though, my access to internet is blocked (i'm at work), i just got to the first page of your myspace, can't access any link.

my favorite parts:

"everything that you read
couldn't translate you
couldn't translate you"

"you are young and old
all at once
you are young and old
all at once"

the repetition of words and phrases is kinda moving, i often use it in my own lyrics.

its funny you should say that, cause this was the song i wrote where the girl who it is about knew it, and she was a little thrown by it... but it was a song where i tried to be as honest as possible

but definitely listen to the song when you get a chance

Winded Sailor, I've been meaning to listen to your music and I've had you in my top 8 at myspace to remind me but there's something with my internet connection and myspace that doesn't allow me to hear songs. I'll keep trying, though. There's a place I've been uploading my songs and it's really good for getting honest and plenty of feedback you may be interested in, I highly recommend it and I'd like to see you there, it's http://www.redfizz.com.

That was my favourite part, in particular the last two lines of it..

I always approach song lyrics with slight caution...just because without the music they can sometimes struggle, but these hold up pretty well :)

As for your music - i think i licked your arse on that one before, ha :)
