as big a fan as Eddie is of the Ramones,it seems only Johnny Ramone felt the same way about Eddie and Pearl Jam.

Marky Ramone on Eddie Vedder:
http://www.rockdirt.com/print5189.html

"Eddie Vedder has nothing to do with punk rock and I feel it was more of a Johnny [Ramone] thing, since Johnny moved to Hollywood and he's always wanted to be Mr. Hollywood. They're a whole different breed out there. I think Joe Strummer or Johnny Rotten would have been cooler to induct us, not somebody that is into grunge". And as for Vedder's mohawk at the occasion? "It was like, let's be the punk for the day," Marky said. "Nice guy, but we were never into his music."

I remember Joey Ramone too dissing Pearl Jam (on Howard Stern) .One of Stern's interns said he didnt like a Ramones album and Joey sneered back "You must be a Pearl Jam fan".

why do you think PJ gets no props from Punk?

This was a big topic a few years ago on the PJ boards. I think the general consesus was this: if the Ramones were the Jacksons, Marky would be Tito. I wouldn't get too wrapped up in anything the guy has to say.

Yeah, but Joey would be Michael, and, well we'll just stop there.

Didn't Eddie run their fanclub? Or was that just an urban legend?

i guess you can enjoy a kind of music genre and not make it yourself. or you can be musically influenced by some kind of music and then it gets mixed within you with other things that you like and something different comes out. i like the punk that i know (Ramones, Buzzcocks, Bad Religion), but i really don't know about punk very much (i'm reading "Please Kill Me" now). but i don't like purists very much, especially when they issue despising declarations about people, people i like. :?

Read the interview Mike did with Ramone for Ten Club newsletter back in 96 calendar. I typed it up and posted it a while back but am not sure if the post is still available since the board was redesigned. Ramone said Pearl Jam was more punk than the Ramones.

"Pearl Jam understand the word 'integrity'. In 20 years they wont remember Limp Bizkit and all these bands we have now like they will Pearl Jam." - Joey Ramone, April 2000, SonicNet.

I don't care. But I do like both bands. Whether or not they like each other is irrelevant to me.

Joey clearly liked pearl jam or he wouldnt have been on the fucking 95 Xmas single, and Eddie wouldnt be on their live cd from their last show or whatever. Its not hard to figure out, Joey and Johnny liked and respected Pearl Jam as muscians and people.

Why stop there? This could last us forever. For instance, let's say PJ was the Jacksons - who's Jermaine?
