Doors singer's indecent exposure conviction may be quashed

A conviction of indecent exposure against legendary Doors frontman Jim Morrison may be quashed, almost 40 years after he was charged.

TV Producer Dave Diamond has sought the pardon from Florida Governor Charlie Crist who is said to be reviewing the case.

Morrison was arrested following a 1969 Miami concert during which and was charged with indecent exposure and profanity.

Diamond's intention is to have Morrison, a Florida native, remembered as an artist and not as a criminal. He is arguing that had the incident occurred in the current times, the singer would not have been charged.

Morrison suffered heart failure in Paris two years after the incident. He was 27. At the time of his death, the case was still under appeal.

Although, to be fair, I doubt this will change the opinion of those who think of him as a drunk who whipped his cock out. Just erasing it from the books doesn't mean that it didn't happen.

Thank god the state government of Florida is hard at work on important matters like this.

This makes a lot of sense seeing as how Jim Morrison was the only popular music artist to ever get arrested.

Yeah, really. When someone says the name Jim Morrison, I don't think of some guy getting handcuffed. I think of the music or his drug/liquor problems, but not him pulling his cock out in Florida in 1969. I mean, who hasn't pulled their cock out for strangers to see at some point in their lives?

Every member of the Doors has gone on record as saying he stuck his thumb thru the fly in his pants. I wasn't there, but I don't think he wagged the weenie.

Someone buy King a fullstop and a capital letter.

This is dumb. This is only going to bring it into the public eye and magnify the amount of coverage and thought of him as being the 'got his dick out in public' guy. To me this is like a scab on your arm, pick at it and it'll get bloodier and worse, leave it and it'll heal up and noone will think of it again.

I don't think of him as the guy who got his cock out, I think of him as a charasmatic front man who is overrated in dorm rooms and freedom thinkers throughout the US of A.

I know all about that and I don't think he did it, either. But the public does. And I kind of agree with others here that it's probably better off left alone. I'll just go back to the albums, shows or my copies of "Lords and The New Creatures" and "Wilderness" - that's what shapes my image of the man, not whether or not he took the bait out of the tackle box in public.
