Yeah, I might be confusing it with the FA Cup & Carling Cup thread I just found. Can't find UEFA.

Remember how we used to make a thread for every game in 2nd division. Oh the joy we had! :lol:

Anyway, well done Spurs! I mean, Sevilla is probably the best team in Spain at the moment.

yeah,
for us as well if you understand what I mean

(Van Buyten -> Bayern out)
(Simons -> PSV out)
(Dembele - Martens -> AZ out)

There's still Dutch players in every Champions League team.

:cry:

The ref was a joke for both of the games. We should have had a penalty in both matches and he didn't even give a free kick for the stamp. He was a total joke. Even from my seat in the Paxton Road end, I could see the stamp. We were total shit in the first half and deserved to go 2-0 down. But hey, at least we preserved our European record of only ever being beaten at home in Europe by Real Madrid.

I fucking hate Spanish teams. Fucking crybaby, diving cunts. This match infuriated me. OK we lost. However, how can a team get away with so much cheating? Head stamps, fists flying and rugby tackles aside, all they did was go to ground and writhe around in agony, only to jump up two seconds later. This HAS to be stamped out (mind the pun) of the game and can only be done by a strong referee. Does such a thing exist these days, unfortunately I think not...

I guess it hasn't been a bad first year as a Spurs supporter, considering. Two cup quarterfinals, one cup semifinal. I watched the game yesterday, I thought Tottenham was by far the better side, if only they could play their best game for the whole of the 90 minutes.

May be a bit off topic, but I know a UEFA cup place for next season is very likely...what chance do you guys place on moving past Arse for the Champions League place?

Dude, following spurs is never easy. They'll give you a rollercoaster of a ride, you get huge highs like beating Chelsea and death-defying lows like last night. But it's NEVER boring. That's why I can't figure out ManUtd fans, "WOW, we've won something again!!" Hoo fucking Ray. How boring if it happens every year. But stick with it son, there's better days ahead for sure. In the 25+ years of following the mighty Spurs, I've seen a lot of shit at the Lane and from experience I can tell that we are on the cusp of something big. It just takes Jol to make 2or3 signings in the summer and we'll be there.

Moving above L'arse? - No chance.

UEFA Cup? - Definitely, one way or the other. We have three chances to get UEFA next season.

Firstly the FA cup semi's are this weekend, if ManUre & Chel$ki both win then because they will qualify for the Champions league, another UEFA place goes to the league. Which means so long as we finish at least seventh we'll be fine. Which IS going to happen.

Secondly, Jol has said we'll eneter the Intertoto if necessary.

Thirdly, we're top of the fair play league, which is a UEFA place in itself.

That's exactly why I picked this team. Besides being impressed by Aaron Lennon as a powersub in the World Cup, I found out Tottenham has some other quality players but tends to underperform at times. I've always rooted for the underdog in life, and this is no different. Why pick Man Utd when they win the premiership, and possibly the FA Cup or Champions League, in my first year as a fan? What does that mean to me, the layman yankee who calls himself a United supporter? Seems like hollow victories. (Don't get me wrong, I still love watching them play)

I don't give a fuck who they sign, I just want to hold on to Berbatov, y'know?

It looks like a long shot, but hey, you never know. If spurs don't make it, beating Arsenal at the Lane next weekend will be a nice consolation.

Actually I did, but then again I tend watch any football match that's on. I still maintain that we were better than Seville who just won the final on pens. It sounds like a case of sour grapes, and perhaps it is a bit, but we were mugged off by the ref that night.

Yid Army!!

as a lover of the sport, i used to watch every game as well. but here in the US you can't really get great live matches to see besides the EPL, Serie A and CL. without paying big bucks for it that is. that's one of the things i really miss here, the whole atmosphere around games. nobody gives a shit :(

The thing is, the UEFA cup has more qualifiers than the champions league. Therefore, more fans interested in it. Stands to reason.
