Songs, albums, bands, genres - anything goes. Not all music lends itself to be played really loud. Anything with bad production usually sounds like shit or hurts your ears if its too loud. And a lot just has too much treble or whatever else and therefore sounds bad. Anyway, this is kind of a shitty attempt here because I don't remember exactly what I like to play loud, but it's a start.

Super ridiculously retarded loud:
Mogwai

Really fucking loud: In Flames, At the Gates, Dimmu Borgir, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jesu, Porcupine Tree, Strapping Young Lad, Children of Bodom, M83, "This Is A Call"

Damn loud: most post-rock, Enduser, Boards of Canada, Ulrich Schnauss, Aphex Twin, classic rock

Belong - October Language is also really fun to blast, it is almost painful sometimes but it sounds incredible too.

Your new avatar reminds me of Mogwai's "Hunted by a Freak" video.

It's a video about a guy catching small animals then throwing them off extremely tall buildings. FYI

It's a cartoon, but it's still pretty creepy. Anyway, it's an awesome song. :D

Not a single person around my parts has heard of Mastodon so I end up playing Leviathan as loud as my speakers will go quite often as an intro.

I should have gone to the Slayer/Mastodon show here last week. I might not get another good chance to see Lombardo.

Yup, Mastodon definitely qualifies. Pretty much any decently produced metal qualifies.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Mastodon in May 8)

just for buff's benefit i will mention "like a rolling stone" from the bootleg series vol. 4. 8)

the allman brother's at the fillmore album and the white stripes de stijl are two of my favorite "loud" albums.

i also refuse to listen to "machine gun" off of band of gypsys at anything close to normal volume (jimi hendrix, fyi).

I know back in the day I use to crank up Dr. Feelgood and Metallica (Black Album) pretty fucking loud.

Nowadays, it's usually Rust In Peace or SoaD Mezmerize.

Yeah Allman Brothers is a good one. Blues in general sounds good really loud.
