Uh, Pearl Jam aren't actually better than the Cure though...
I think I'll redress the balance and vote for "the other team".
The Cure are the fuckin' best, just untouchable 1980-1984.
*edit*
My votes...
Queen over Radiohead
Stevie Wonder over Jimi Hendrix
David Bowie over Smashing Pumpkins (wtf?!)
Beastie Boys over Depeche Mode
Beatles over RHCP
The Cure over Pearl Jam (don't hit me)
Nirvana over Beach Boys
John Lennon over Rolling Stones
Led Zeppelin over Metallica
Weezer over Johnny Cash (again, wtf?!)
The Who over Guns 'n' Roses
U2 over Eric Clapton
Pink Floyd over REM
The Ramones over AFI
The Doors over The Police
Dire Straits over DMB (geez, what a competition of blandness...)
as of my vote, pearl jam is ahead 2234-2205. really, the guy wears lipstick just hanging out and...they do suck. "it's friday", and yep, they still suck.

dammit stip.
cuz I don't know AFI or cuz I think the ramones suck?
I downloaded the cure's greatest hits since I wanted to see if they were better than I was giving them credit for.
So far they're not.

I have been a quasi-Cure fan from time to time....they are just ok. Comparing them to Pearl Jam is like comparing Dan Pastorini (who had a few decent seasons with the Houston Oilers and was a tough dude) to John Elway (who is one of the best ever).

Nah, steer clear of the Greatest Hits.
Download Seventeen Seconds or Faith. Then come back to me.
And they've had a slow decline since about 1985 too, so you better take that into consideration. I don't think there's even anything from BEFORE that date on the Greatest Hits.

you can combine pearl jam's best songs to form an album, and it will sound like crap compared to Disintegration
seriously...Pearl Jam is good, but they have a long way til touch The Cure
so were you searching for cure threads in pj chat or something. What an odd bump.
