I was reading my trusty ol SMH the other day when I came across this little piece.

Quote:
Tutti frutti
Some people choose to be vegetarian because they object to the slaughter of animals for meat. Others choose a vegan diet because they object to the farming of animals altogether. But who's looking out for the vegetables?

According to the Fruitarian Foundation (http://www.fruitarian.com), the only way to avoid "violence against all forms of life" is to exclude everything but raw fruit, seeds and nuts from your diet.

For purists such as 52-year-old Queensland farmer Ahimsa Fruitarian, even seeds and nuts are out because they can still give rise to a living plant. "True fruitarians don't eat the living parts of a plant," he says.

Fruitarian eats 20 to 40 oranges a day but admits that his diet isn't strictly fruitarian. He supplements it with yoghurt, skim milk powder and bread dipped in orange juice, but plans to go 100 per cent fruitarian when he establishes his own organic fruit farm.

"It's not sustainable just to eat apples and oranges," he says. "You need to eat high-protein, high-nutrient fruits like dragon fruit." The problem is, most of these fruits are only found in remote parts of the world. "At the moment fruitarianism is in the pioneering stages." - Anne Fawcett

I came out of it thinking, gee, I wonder what the rabid vegans and vegetarians on RM have to say about this.

I think they just don't like the taste of vegies but appreciate the sweet, sweet goodness of a fruit.

Not the type of diet I would recommend.

I once tried to eat nothing but fruit for a few weeks. Not a good idea. The acids in the fruits really made a mess of my mouth. Little acid sores will make you not want to eat at all!

This is necessary.

Life feeds on life feeds on life feeds on life.

If they don't want to feed on life, I won't shed a tear over their deaths.

I remember reading in a guinness book a while ago that there was some guy who ate every piece of an airplane.

Apart from some minerals, that was not good for him, and will not promote his long life.

Airbus just introduced their latest model. The biggest passenger carrying plane as of yet.

Bon appetit
