Is there anybody on this message board that likes to run?

Recently I've competed in some 5k's. The last one I ran in I finished 8th overall and by doing that I won a gift certificate from CiCi's Pizza that is basically worth $3.99.

But, I was wondering how many times a week you run, average distance, times and things like that.

With the 5k's I've finished 26th with a time of 21:22, and 8th with a time of 20:01.

Anyone else find it moronic that a prize for a 5km run is pizza?

But I don't want to devalue your thread, I am hopeless over long distance but I used to be a sprinter (fastest 11.4 for 100m). Then I found my friend beer and kinda lost my way.

I flirt with running occasionally, usually once the temperature stays consistantly above freezing. I'm not into marathons or anything, and i don't do it competitively but a usual distance for me is about 5k...sometimes 7 or 8 if i'm feeling saucy.

I used to run on a regular basis (3 times a week) years ago, then I totally stopped
now I try to do it every week or so in the sunny part of the year
I don't really bother about distance, I just try to run for 45 minutes to an hour at average speed

today it's mostly to stay in good shape, while before I just needed to do it cause it helped me not going crazy

Hey me too, except mine was 12.2s. 11.4 is fucking insane.

My best running time ever was an Army PT test. 2 miles in 12:42.

in 2 minutes each, I did 69 pushups and 92 situps.

I was insane when I was 19.

A few years ago i was considering joining the army and during my training i was getting 2 miles in under 14 mins. That was fucking rough.

I ran in college and still do it when I have time. I was training for a marathon so I could say I ran one, but with work and coaching I havent had as much time as I want so I am shooting for a half marathon in October instead.

I got a number on me
I got a number
Won't make it through the high noon sun
I am my father's son
I am my father's son
His bed is made
I was a hero
Early in the morning
I ain't no hero
In the night
I am my father's son
And I'll build a house inside of you
I'll go in through the mouth
I'll draw three figures on your heart
One of them will be me as a boy
One of them will be me
One of them will be me watching you run
watching you run
Into the high noon sun
Watching you run
Farther than guns will go
You are a runner
With a stolen voice
And you are a runner
And I am my father's son
I am my father's son
I am my father's son

2 years ago i ran a 5k and a 10k, and i trained for about 2 months before the 10k. that's the most running i had done in my life combined. i felt great, but also i got burned out on it, and haven't run consistently since then (other than playing basketball).

i want to run the 10k again, but it's in just over a month so i have to get my shit in gear ASAP.

i run 3-4 times a week. usually 3-5 miles depending on my mood. in a 5k i'd run it at about 22-24 minutes. i was never a distance runner until a little over a year ago.
my best running achievement was a 4.5 40 yard time right after my senior year of hikes school. i used to pull TONS of pussy back then

I run every other day. I go about 4 to 4.5 miles. My average pace is around 7 minutes a mile. The best I've done in training is 4 miles in 27 minutes.

I've run in 5ks and 10ks. I finished a 10k in 40:41.

I really love just getting my iPod Nano and hitting the road. It just feels great. Some days are better than others though, but I don't see myself ever stopping. You can lose yourself in your thoughts and that is a great thing to be able to do when you have a lot on your plate.

Does being able to run a mile before going back to walk/jogging qualify one to post in this thread? heh

I've been getting into running a bit lately. I'll probably aim for a couple 5k's late in the summer. I don't pay much attention to pace and that just yet, usually just run for between 30-45 min at a steady pace.

i used to sprint and do long distance, i always came up in the top 3 on long distance and top 5 in sprint. i don't remember my long distance record, but i ran the 100m in 11.8s once. Only once, usualy i'd get somewhere in between 12.2 - 12.9

that's pretty fast for running in wooden shoes.

In soccer, whenever we were losing my coach would put me as a winger. my teammates would just kick the ball towards the cornerflag and i start running after it so i could kick it to our striker in front of the goal. we've tied/won many games using this technique.
