Haven't seen this posted yet, apologies if it has been already:

"Body of War"; Ed solo - 20 Apr 2007
EV: "I'm in the studio in Seattle. I'm working on a few batches of songs."

It was a gunshoot wound to the spine that sent Tomas Young from the Iraq war and it was the story of a hero that moved Ed to write a small handful of songs for an upcoming documentary entitled "Body of War."

Read the full interview for more on this incredible young man and Ed's contributions. There's also some great information about the upcoming Kokua Festival at which Ed is performing solo with Boom on the keys.

good read

"this thing called uh, "google earth," have you ever heard of it?"

ha ha ha

i'd much rather the politics be left at the door of the venue and this article to get picked up by the AP, or in Rolling Stone.... delicate balance.

regardless, much love for some man I don't even know...

back to my new model regressions

Very good read, thanks.

I'd always underestimated Boom's presence within the band - it's good to see the relationship (non sexual) between him and Eddie. :)

It's great to see that songs are pouring out of Eddie too, i'm looking forward to hearing them.

I hope Ed speaks faster in the interviews than on stage, otherwise this must have taken days

I'm a little alarmed that he's just 'throwing some stuff together' or whatever he said. His solo stuff usually has an unfinished quality to it that sounds more half-assed than raw. Sometimes it's worth taking the time to really WORK on a song

That interview was pretty all-over-the-place. A good read all the same. Thanks!

p.s. I don't have high expectations for an Eddie solo career in the future.

Sorry for the ignorance of this post. I didn't know he had done any solo stuff. Could someone tell me what it is and where to find it, poor quality or not?

Only SOON FORGET and CAN'T KEEP, but those have had lives as Pearl Jam songs. Have others been released as solo songs?

Not as easy to get a hold of as a Pearl Jam show. Worth pursuing? Or truly awful?

I really like those '02 solo shows. Those songs don't blow like No More War.
