Or, well, I forget what was the official terminology they used, but when trying to copy a DL DVD onto a single layer and using Shrink & Decrypter and all that, but somewhere along the line I had to do what it is where you create an extra DVD drive on your computer to temporarily hold the files. (on my machine it's in as the "J" drive)

What my issue currently is now is deleting those files. I've since successfully made the backup of the movie onto a blank disc, but I can't figure out how to get ride of these damn files now, they're taking up 5+gb of space. In My Computer I right-clicked on the J drive icon and hit eject, and whereas before it said the name of the movie as part of the icon, now that went away and it looks just the same as the icon for my actual DVD drive when that's physically empty. But going to the folder on my desktop where all the files are, every time I try to delete them I get that standard windows message saying it can't because they're in use with another program, yada yada.

But obviously they're not! Hell it's been days since I did the official copy and burn and everything, I've just been procrastinating to finally clean up after myself with the files. I can't figure out how the hell to get that 5gb of space back and delete the sonsabitches. I'd appreciate some assistance. :)
Thank you.

Have you tried restarting your computer and then removing files? That's one option. Cause then all processes are ended and no files will be in use once it's restarted. If not let us know and I'll do my best to see what else I can find that would be helpful...

Hmm, ya know it's funny, I read your post here and I'd wanted to slap myself. Realizing I should've tried that. Because of course with different little things in the past that happens, ya know, just when your system hiccups for whatever reason, and it says it can't delete something. You reboot and sure enough the file's gone on the first try. Didn't think about it here, don't know why.

But unfortunately that was NOT the easy fix. Now FYI, when I rebooted the same thing happened as has every other time on a fresh reboot ever since I first put these files on this virtual "J" drive -- I had that Windows box come up saying, in regards to the J drive files, if I wanted to take no action, open the folder to view the files, open them in DVD Decrypter, and like the 3 or 4 other things it always saysin there, etc etc.

I picked to open the folder to view the files. I tried even just going in and selectively deleting the biggest files, the 1gb+ ones, but got same thing.

Here's the pop-up things it said:

"Video_TS. Bupis a read-only"

and

"Can't delete Video_TS:Files on this DVD drive are read-only. You cannot copy or move files over to this DVD drive"

So if you can discern something outta that that would give me a clue, I'd be quite grateful. Gracias.

EDIT: oh my apologies I should also point out, when I mentioned about having the files in a folder on my desktop, in there it's actually just as one, an .ISO file, at the size of about 5.8gb

I know this site is talking about deleting stuff from DVD-RW/CD-RW but it has the same symptoms as your problem.. so

Hope that helps...
