3/29 without a doubt

3/29 owns. Blood, Porch, Sonic Reducer, Alive. All top notch versions. The version of Porch is just mind-melting. Plus Ed is very vocal and in rare form.

Well, 3/28 has the whole anarchy vibe to it. You don't hear it, but can you imagine listening to "Animal" and feel the 10,000 ticketless fans outside storming the venue? I had the 3/29 bootleg for so long and really got into that moreso than the night before so that to me is the better show.

I go with 3/29. I think it's just about one of the best concerts the band has ever done. 3/28 would hold up really well against almost any other show....but I think 3/29 was better. I miss the extended Porch jams from '94. *sigh*

I was at both. 3/28 was a more electric show, both on stage and in the audience. They left many of the houselights on for the whole show, helicopters hovering over the venue, etc. Lucky they opened that with "Release", it was a powder keg.

I still remember being on line to get in the venue with a enormous mass of ticketless fans shuffling around by the venue fence. Security grew concerned and linked up about ten feet behind the fence, some locking arms forming a human chain if memory serves. About a minute later, a huge mass of people rushed the fence, knocking it over. Of course the security guards went down like bowling pins too. Those of us standing in line started getting shoved and pushed this way and that as well. To a degree, tickets became meaningless at that point.

The intensity of that show still stands out in my mind to this day. There were some real goosebump moments as well.

The next night was also very intense and a lot less dangerous. It was nice to see both of them and I really never think of them comparatively like the original poster is. The two shows really complimented each other well. But, for the sake of balance as well as being one of the only people on these forums that went to both of them, I would give the edge to Miami. A cd only gives you a loose idea of what a show actually was like.

Still, I admit St. Petersburg had some incredible versions of some of those songs, perhaps the best I've ever heard them played (Black and Porch immediately come to mind). I really wish they would release that 94 tour from the vaults so that the younger and newer Pearl Jam fans can finally appreciate how good that tour actually was. Atlanta was just the tip of the iceburg.
