what do you do? are there procedures you do to maintain that level of love for the band or do you ride the wave and take it where it takes you?

give them a break for a little bit and then later on, you get to rediscover the love

I usually go in phases. At the beginning of the year I was in a No Code/Yield phase. Then I was in a Ten/Vs./Vitalogy phase. As of now I'm in a live phase. Who knows what will be next.

PJ really hits me in waves... I go for like 2 months with nothing but PJ, then a month with nothing... That's kinda my nature... I was hittin' AVO/No Code hard... then into a bloc party/arcade fire kinda retro phase... now back to RA and Vs.

I got sick of the latest album pretty quick, maybe i'll go back to it one day. I have so many bootlegs and other stuff though that I guess once i'm sick of one thing, there's other things to go back to.

I don't get tired of PJ. I may listen to other bands but whenever I hear songs, see anything in print or hear people discussing them, I'm always too interested. Its becoming a problem.

I'm not really listening to any PJ atm. I'll wait for a few weeks before the tour until I start again

Why do you want to maintain your interest?

What are you listening to now that excites you?

it's hard not to get burnt out on any band after a period of intense listening. That's why the good lord made other bands to listen to

I've found lately that it has been vitalogy and S/T drawing me back in when I've been listening to other bands

I buy a planner the first of the year and carefully write out what music I will listen to each day for the rest of the year to ensure that I don't get burnt out on bands.

I left it at home today, so rather than engaging in unstructured listening I'm just doing to sit here quietly. It's too risky otherwise, I could burn out on something ahead of schedule

I start listening to Bad Radio and change the location of all my Eddie posters. That usually does the trick

I'm on a pearl jam hiatus right now. I tend to listen to things in phases. I was on a real prog kick for a while, now I've moved on to more classic hard rock. Pearl jam usually gets its own phase every 4 or 5 months
