I get quoted, so it's all good. :)

Pronger/S Niedermayer up for the Norris. No surprise. Pahlsson up for the Selke, good to see a strong member of the Duck grind line get some recognition.

I like Sid the Kid, I just hope they don't hand over the Hart to him in order to hand it over 9 more times in a row to get him to break Gretz. :x

Hart: Crosby
Calder: Malkin
Selke: Pahlsson
Jack Adams: Therrien
Norris: Lidstrom
Lady Byng: Sakic
Vezina: Brodeur

I'm very confident in the first 3 and Lidstrom, but the rest are pretty tough choices.

Wrong!

That would be Sean Avery getting traded to the Rangers. 8)

you can have him, we'll take the one of the best goalies in the NHL, in exchange for a dude that is questionable to play 80% of the time :D

If Crosby wins it, it's because he was the MVP... which he was. Luongo and Brodeur both single-handedly carried their teams, but (and I credit this theory to someone at The Hockey News, but I can't remember who) take any of the top teams and replace their goalie with an average NHL goalie. Brodeur, Luongo, Kipper, Lundqvist, Miller, Giguere, Nabokov, Hasek, Backstrom, Emery... they're all the most valuable. If you actually went by who's literally the most valuable, a goalie would win it every single year (unless there's a Gretzky-type season, of course.) So I would give it to Crosby, because he was so much better than any player in the league.

My MVP: John LeClair.

If the dumbass wouldn't have checked his own teammate, Geno Malkin, and put him on the sidelines, Jordan Stall would have been sent down to the minors before playing more than 10 games without a doubt(99% for financial/contract reasons).

Thus, the joy to watch that was the 2006-2007 season never would've happened. Here's to u Johnny!! Once Flyer scum, always Flyer scum!

(sorry if this rant was a little too Penguin related)

off hand i dont know if staal has more goals/points than malkin, but i do know he was much more effective on the penalty kill. how many 18 year olds do you know get thrust on the 1st line of your penalty kill. the kid has a 12 foot wing span, he can poke check the puck from ya from the blue line and your behind your goal

The point totals aren't even close, that's why I don't think Staal will win. Staal is a far more complete player, and you're right, he does the little things that no one can expect out of a 23 year old rookie, let alone a teenager. But seriously... 85 points for Malkin, 42 for Staal. That's WAY too big a margin to overcome by being a great defensive player.
