This was an interesting one I found out over there, especially since the black descriptor hardly raises an eyebrow over here.

This was an interesting one I found out over there, especially since the black descriptor hardly raises an eyebrow over here.


I suppose the eyebrow raise on my behalf was because it has never really been a term used to describe Aboriginal people... other distasteful terms? Yep but not black. It is really something I associate with American culture which is also part of the eyebrow raise.

i really have nothing to add to this thread except: oooh, yay! jigalong and the rabbit proof fence. i did a report on this for one of my anthro classes and found it absolutely fascinating.
