This is quite extraordinary, the crime itself is entirely abominable and the lack of media on this story is very hard to rationalise. At first i thought this was bullshit but the information is available if you go looking for it I find it kinda hard to understand why this wouldn't make for national news. Racial viewpoints aside the role of the press is essentially to represent society, all walks of society with out prejudice. Although I guess this is somewhat of a holistic expectation to still maintain.

The worst part of that article was:
Quote:
A more rational explanation might be found in the sober observation that murders - even decidedly horrific murders - are unfortunately too frequent an occurrence in the U.S. for all of them to garner national attention
Man am I glad I didn't grow up in the US

I have never heard of anything like this before. Yes, grisly murders happen all the time, but I think it's pretty reasonable to assume this event has been run through the PC filter.
And yes, I have a gun. Once you have a house, it's kinda necessary to protect your family against black people. <--joking.

That is truly sickening.
To move the discussion forward though, do you think if they had a gun it wouldn't have happened? Would they have been able to pull it before they were held at gunpoint themselves?

I don't see how it could have made the situation any worse. Figure you've got at least a couple seconds while you watch 5 people walk towards your car. They couldn't possibly have suffered a worse fate.
If I were the father of either one of the victims, I'd give up everything I had to be alone in a room with each of those guys (while they were restrained, of course) for a couple hours. I wouldn't give a fuck how wrong revenge is.
