Not a fan of either team, nor baseball for that manner, but it has been fun to watch.

yankees are the early 90's cowboys of baseball.
red sox have historically been an incredibly racist team.

Go Cubs!

but in terms of this series: 1. for history's sake, i'm rooting for boston. 2. my hatred for the yanks runs deeper than my dislike for the red sox.

i'd love to see boston win game seven and then loose game seven of the world series... i think the curse is fuckin hilarious to watch people complain about.

just my OPINION.

Dude, why bring up the race card here? You're talking about ancient history. That's like saying I don't like to go into Times Square because it used to be a porn mecca or I don't like Coke because the formula used to be New Coke.

I'm a life-long Yankee fan, but I won't die if the Yanks don't win tonight. I can appreciate a great series when I see one, like the 2001 Series when the Yanks lost in the bottom of the 9th of game 7 to Arizona. It will be amazing to see history be made if the Sox do win, and a little part of me would love to see a Boston-Houston series right before the Kerry-Bush election.

Make no mistake though, if Boston wins, their fans still don't deserve it.

You should know your baseball history. The Red Sox were the last team to integrate, 10 years after Jackie Robinson, and black players on the Red Sox have complained of racism from the team and fans up to the 80's and even to the present day.

You should watch the HBO documentary The Curse Of The Bambino, if you can handle the pain. It's on Thursday morning on HBO2. http://www.hbo.com/apps/schedule/Schedu ... L&ID=98011

In re the Boston Red Sox and racism.

In their defence (or perhaps defiance), it was Ted Williams's 1965 Hall Of Fame induction speech that led directly to the inclusion of Negro League players in the Hall. I loved Ted Williams, may he chill in peace.

But what does this have to do with Game 7 tonight? I think that is the point people are trying to make.

Hell, this country enslaved black people for over 200 years. I still root for it in the Olympics (particularly in the 80's when it played Russian teams, which is the closest you get to the Yankees  ).
