 Post subject: Crazy Mary: what's with the pitch change?

I don't think Victoria Williams was pleased with this.

(btw 6-9-03 = best crazy mary ever).

I guess it's just more comfortable for Ed to sing a little lower. I prefer his voice on the live versions (starting on Am) more so than the studio recording (starting on Bm). It's no big deal, really...i doubt many people even notice.

Lives versions are superior to the studio version mainly because of the way he jumps an octave on the "ohhhh" part when he sings it live.

my guess is he's being insensitive and assuming since it's a woman she must have SOMEthing to complain about. ;)

i hate when he tries to go high for a note here and there in the live versions
