i actually never knew this. i was going to say it's when someone bats if the person who is supposed to be up is alreadu on base, but i'm pretty sure they they bring the dude in and have someone run for him instead.
shit...i really don't know this or why it sucks. maybe they bat instead of the pitcher?
i'm pretty sure the word "safety" applies to more than one sport, but in football, it's when you tackle a dude (who has posession of the ball) in the opposite end zone. your team gets two points and they kick it off too you.
