It's those little tiny passing moments that make me love being a Pearl Jam fan even more.

i saw a car with a "MFC" bumper sticker last week so i beeped at the person driving. they probably thought i was being an asshole

i was driving around the laks here and heard the car in front of me blasting a live pj bootleg from the 06 tour. i totally gayed out and made him notice i was rocking out to his cd.

I was at a gas station a few years back and the guy pumping gas next to me was blasting Binaural. Kind of ironic that Grievance was playing while I was pumping gas @ $3.00/gallon.

last time i was in vegas i walked by some older dude who was wearing a really old tour shirt, i think from no code and it was all faded and awesome. I said "hey man nice shirt!" and he looked my green disease shirt and said "not as cool as your's" and gave me thumbs up

when i saw dredg in el paso a few years ago, the bouncer had stickman tattooed on his arm, so i says "nice tattoo, man" and he just kinda blows me off like a fat asshole. Later on right before dredg comes on, he realizes that i'm wearing the bandwagon hat and then won't shut up about pearl jam, i missed half of the first dredg song cause the dude wouldn't stop yapping... nice guy

It's neat that you guys actually live in a fantasy world where OTHER people wear Pearl Jam shirts and listen to their tunes.

Its good to hear this....I monitor the weight room at the high school I teach at after school and I often try to put some PJ in.....most of the dudes in their like me and appreciate the fact that I open it up for them, so they tolerate it. The minute I tell them to go ahead and put "their" music in the stereo the bullshit rap goes in....."thats why i'm hot" and the NBA on NBC theme song and that nonsense. Anyhow...just came from feeling old for putting in Yield to lift to and needed to hear that we aren't completely out of touch....or at least that we are out of touch together. I hate the fact that I have finally reached the point (14th yr, first 11 or 12 I was "in touch") that I don't listen to the same stuff most of the students do.

You know Chirs it's funny... I swore up and down that I'd never be "out of it" for the sake of my students and kids... the whole "he who forgets will be destined to remember.." thing... But I am. I'm not 17 anymore.

I think it's good that we're not. It allows us to open their eyes to new stuff, and the other way around. So yes, we're old together. I'm glad I"m in good company!

yeah, you know its funny....judging by your age (27) you would have been one of my first classes of students and we would have talked about PJ, nirvana, rage, tool, the beasties, the summer dead tours, the chili peppers, lollapalooza, Ozzfest and all the other musical things that were going on then...its frustrating because the only "rock" fans in the high school are the weird disaffected kids- the goths and the black metal rockers. I often talk rock music with these kids and have a good relationship with them, but I do miss when large majorities of my seniors were going to see a ROCK band that i was also going to see. In 1995 when I started, that was regularly the case...the last class of students that was the "normal" kids were listening to the same bands as me was the class of 2004....it just abruptly ended, it seems and now amongst the mainstream of kids its all dancy pop and rap. Blame it on american idol, i guess.

We definately grew up in a cool era. Pearl Jam was voted best band in at least two of the four years in my high school. I bet half of all high school kids now don't even know who they are. Then again I have a brother who's 20 and I haven't heard of half the bands he likes.

One day last year when I was driving home I had the GH compilation playing in the car. I was sitting at a stop light, with my windows down, when I heard a guy singing along to what I had on. I looked over and smiled and when he drove past, I noticed a PJ sticker on his car as well.

I asked a girl out who I didn’t really know all that well because I heard she had the Stickman tattoo on her ankle.

FYI, just because a girl has a tattoo on her ankle of your favorite band doesn’t mean you two will hit it off and make babies.

anytime i see anyone wearing or listening to PJ i make sure they know i've noticed and appreciate it. however it's EXTREMELY rare especially living in LA. where in socal are you?
