Any cycling fans here ?
I was an amateur cycling racer and I must admit that i'm totally disgusted with all the scandals regarding doping usages
Bjarne Riis confesses doping

Yes but that's quite a move !
Floyd Landis is still denying that he won the 2006 tour with doping products though all evidences prove that he did.
That's so dumb !

it is, but do you think he would have said anything if it weren't for the fact that they were on to him? i think not. why else wait 10 years before "coming out"?

I was under the impression that all evidence points to a giant clusterfuck.

that's all sorts of fucked up. he only admitted it because they were on to him. fucker.
Yep, if they didn't unravel what happened at Telecom during the 90s he never would've confessed.
I hope they get to the bottom of this shit, and kick out all the guys who used drugs.
Is anyone else following Giro D'Italia btw?
I don't think they are gonna kick anyone out who has confessed about the 90's.
I'm following the Giro, i'll follow it weather they are using drugs or not. Lets be serious to, if these guys had been using EPO and not being caught thru drug tests, surely there are other sports with a drug problem too.

There sure are other sports with a drugs problem, soccer for example (in Italy, there are really strong suppositions that Juventus players have been loaded) but they haven't gone through a big scandal like cycling had (the festina affair and many others)

here in the states as well with baseball, and i'm sure other sports as well. it amazes me how these players, like Barry Bonds, whom is about to break some sort of all time record (home runs i think? ) are allowed to keep on playing. it's disgusting.

the problem is we want superheros in sport that can do the extraordinary, so there will always be drug cheats.

Did anyone ever doubt that Riis won that tour with more doping in his body than the ENTIRE Festina team 2 years later? I always thought he was one of the biggest hypocrites in the world and it doesn't surprise me one bit that CSC is so much associated with doping rumours and facts.
You guys should read that Jef Dhont (team helper of Telekom), even if half of it is made up, it's still pretty mindblowing what Riis did to win.

The only book I've read on this subject is "LA confidentiel" which mainly deals about Lance Armstrong and even if the book doesn't provide absolute evidence of his doping habits, it's quite confusing to see all the elements the journalists gather about him.
I dont know the book you're talking about Angus but I'll check it out.

Luckily shortly after Telekom's two treacherous victories, Lance Armstrong came along and beat these cheats.
While I'm pretty sure, doping is all over sports today, cycling might be the worst of it. I don't even bother watching Tour De France this year.
