to prevent further scratches just get a case, or one of those little self-adhesive screens you put on the front. I had both on my old 30G ipod and when i took them off after a year the thing was spotless (well, the back was scuffed up but i don't really care about that).
Awesome. Instead of spending $20 on scratch remover from Best Buy, I got a free can of Brasso from my dad's store, and it worked great. The longer I worked it into the iPod, the better it looked, so I will probably work on it more today.

Glad it worked. But remember, it's a mild abrasive, so I don't know if I would put more then I need on the ipod.
