albert pujols (history speaks for itself)
chase utley (the best 2nd baseman in the league)
vlad
jose reyes

two pitchers:

johan santana
jake peavy

that's tough.

notables i left off: carl crawford, matt holliday, a-rod, jimmy rollins, grady sizemore, ortziz, berkman.

Okay, let's see, current players, as they are right now.

You want to be strong up the middle, so I'll take Hanley Ramirez, Chase Utley and Torii Hunter. Pujols is the best hitter in the game, in my opinion, so we've got to take him.

On the hill, Peavy and Cain, so we've got nasty stuff from each side.

my team is pretty young, if you didn't notice. i was going for more like 'you have to start a team now with the players available throughout the league, who do you pick?'
