An excerpt from the 6/14/07 issue of Rolling Stone:

Who Footage Unearthed

Two years ago, filmmaker Murray Lerner sat down with Roger Daltrey to discuss plans to make the definitive movie on the Who.... Most exciting is newly unearthed film from their legendary 1970 Valentine's Day gig at Leeds University, recorded as Live at Leeds.... The documentary--which features new interviews with Daltrey, Pete Townshend and famous fans including Eddie Vedder and the Edge--hits theaters in the fall.

Ed was at the Leeds show? Wow, I always wanted to see what he looked like at the age of 6.

Just kidding. Thanks for the info, dude!

Nope, and I don't like Neil Young and HATE the ramones.

Eddie and I would have lots to talk about

How can anyone hate the Ramones? Stip, I'm disappointed in you. I knew you aren't a big fan of punk music, but hate? They only play three chords. There's not enough music there to muster such a strong emotion as hatred.

Another example of my argument about respecting an artist and what they meant to others being a different thing than liking 'em. My best examples are the Doors, Lynryrd Skynyrd, Iron Maiden and Tool....I respect what they mean to people and what they stand for- so much so that I might even be considered a "fan" of these bands. But I simply cannot listen to them for more than about 3 minutes. To me, it would be hard argument to say you don't respect what the Who, Neil Young and the Ramones have done.

I'm pretty sure Stip respects what they've done and the fact that they mean something to people, but he just doesn't like the music himself. I'm the same way with music, and especially movies. For example, I respect Shakespeare in Love as a film and that people enjoy it, and I can see why. But I really don't care for it. Give me a porno instead. :P

Vedder is a great interviewee, always has something interesting to say. Can't say the same for the rest of PJ though.

I can't even stand looking at you anymore Frank after you said you don't like stupid mop. I'm afraid this internet friendship may have come to an end.

This is certainly true of Neil Young and the who (and frank was right--I certainly respect them as artists even if I don't enjoy their product all the time (the who) or most of the time (neil young). I'm not entirely sure music is better off for having birthed the ramones though. But I wouldn't go to the wall over that comment either. I just really can't stand listening to them

 I'm being ostracized from PJ Chat because of my disdain for Stupid Mop. I guess I'll have to take up permanent residency in A&E...I'm pretty sure I'm still well-liked over there.
