Its summer time, and I have baseball on the brain. So, I was thinking...what would my Pearl Jam baseball lineup be (1-8 ) if I had only the 8 studio albums to choose from, I couldn't pick any album twice, and the 9th place hitter was any song off of Lost Dogs. So for instance, for the leadoff song, i can choose any of the first songs off the first 8 albums. The cleanup song would have to be any of the 4th songs off any of the 8 albums.
So my choices are for leadoff are:
once
go
last exit
sometimes
brain of j
breakerfall
can't keep
life wasted
Lets say i pick 'Brain of J'. I can't then pick any other song off of Yield.
Giving those rules, this would be my lineup.
1. Brain of J
2. Save You
3. Comatose
4. In My Tree
5. Nothingman
6. Thin Air
7. Blood
8. Porch
9. Yellow Ledbetter

This is actually a pretty neat idea, even if it's been done already (it may not have been - there have just been so many PJ list threads in this forum that I lose track).
Mine would go:
1. Can't Keep (meaning this song gets on base a lot)
2. Faithfull (is willing to make a SF fly to advance the runner)
3. Who You Are (the fun-loving guy who's there when you need him)
4. Given to Fly (how can you not take this song for the clean-up spot?)
5. Nothing As It Seems (the big dude who can hit the ball a mile)
6. Thin Air (he plays for the Rockies)
7. Do the Evolution (he may be in the bottom third of the line-up, but still does something)
8. Of the Girl (this damn guy is too distracted to hit well)
9. Dirty Frank (a pitcher needs to play dirty to get a hit)

This is just based on my personal favorites, not necessarily going for coherence as an album
1-Last Exit
2-World Wide Suicide
3-Alive
4-Given To Fly
5-Black
6-I Am Mine
7-Do the Evolution
8-Corduroy
9-Yellow Lebetter
Actually, looking at this it makes a pretty excellent record

only one per album.
Well I suck...
Attempt two
1-Last Exit
2-World Wide Suicide
3-Alive
4-Given To Fly
5-Smile
6-I Am Mine
7-Insignificance
8-Rearview Mirror
9-Yellow Lebetter
this was tough...

frank you never sease to amaze me
mine would be like this:
Sometimes (just need to get on base)
Animal (get the crowd into it)
Alive (homerun potential, reliable if you need a hit)
Given to Fly (song goes the distance)
Smile (you'd pick Black if it weren't so reliable)
Parachutes (cultivate the fresh talent in the back of the lineup)
Insignificance (something that can drive in anyone on base)
Rearviewmirror (this would be your all-around great fielder and hitter)
Yellow Ledbetter (because the rest of Lost Dogs were outtakes or b-sides)
