The tragedy happened June 30th.

Eddie changed lyrics on June 28th 2003 in Toronto during Release "Anthony... can you see this now?"

You don't hear me talking about London.

Ed did mention last year at one of the Milwaukee shows (which was the 29th and 30th) that its been a hard couple of days (so im thinking it was the 30ths show) for the band...

Its been assumed he was refering to...
the Roskilde anniversary
Booms mother passing away
the news had just broken about their good friends Sleater-Kinney breaking up, which probably wasnt all that bad when compaired to the others... but surely didnt help make the day any better. Not to mention the great power outage before the gig on the 29th.
