I know there will be haters, but that's OK.

I just put a ton of old CDs on my PC to transfer to Itunes & I have to say I had a BLAST listening to the old Poison cds. I'm 30, so I grew up on that stuff.

Believe it or not it has held up. they were exceptional musicians even if you don't like their music.

I saw them live in 03 with winger, cinderella and faster pussycat & they put on an entertaining show.

In particular the two cds that stick out for me are Flesh & Blood & Native Tongue. They were slight departures from the "glam" sound of the 1st two cds. native tongue went for a very rock / blues feel and did a pretty good job.

I'm not saying these guys should have won a grammy or anything, but it was a very nice flash back to sit with these cds for a couple hours.

Key Tracks:

Ride The Wind - Flesh & Blood
Stand - Native Tongue
Until You Suffer Some - Native Tongue
Theater Of My Soul - Native Tongue

Flesh and Blood was a pretty solid album - I'm not a big Poison fan, but I've always liked that record.

The new covers album they put out, while cheesy as hell at times, was done very well musically. I think the band sounds better than ever, honestly. They did a nice job in the studio.

they were fun...but a few notches below some of the better bands of that genre/era.

I saw them in concert twice during their "heyday."

:shake:

My theory is that this is was the fate of people (like me) who didn't have an older sibling to guide them towards better music. It took me a while to realize that MTV was steering me wrong.

 I'm picturing you with a mullet, rocking out to "Nothin' But A Good Time".

I saw them in 2004, opening for KISS and they were entertaining. While I wasn't crazy about them, I enjoyed a lot of Poison's stuff.

And, for the record, NBAGT was my fav Poison song, with "Unskinny Bop" close behind.

That was Warrant (and so is "Heaven isn't too far away.") ;)

Poison are one of the very few bands from that genre that I actually like. My step-dad has two of their CD's so I just borrow them whenever I want to listen.

Ha

On the contrary, considering it's the Grammys, it's kind of surprising they didn't

I know, they just kinda run the same to me. I like some Poison here and there and always look forward to some Metal Mania on VH1 Classic :)

Even when I was thirty, I was able to see through the bullshit. You've got to be kidding me is right. Listening to Poison is like punching yourself in the testicles.
