let's all just take a few moments to appreciate just how awesome justin verlander is.

seriously folks, this guy threw a 102 mph fastball in the 9th inning of his no-hitter, he's probably way better than the best pitcher from your home team.

No sophmore slump or jinx on this kid. The best young arm in baseball. The top three reasons why the Tigers will be battling for the playoffs for the next 10 years: Justin Verlander, Jeremy Bonderman and Andrew Miller.

I appreciate him as long as he's not facing the Jays.

Is he part of the reason that game was sold out well in advance? I was hoping to drive to Philly, but the Sunday game was the only one sold out when I checked early this week.

Probably because of Father's Day.

The radar guns have to be out of whack. Those Detroit guys aren't cracking 100 that often and easily.

Radar guns throughout baseball or just in Detroit? Cause they do it in all parks. Joel Zumaya threw 231 pitches 100 or higher last season. That was more than the rest of the pitchers in the league combined. (God I miss Zumaya.) Verlander had like 30 or so.

Everywhere. I remember AJ Burnett hitting 100 in the 9th inning of his no-hitter, and thinking no fucking way. I think one of those baseball sites has a list of pitchers who 'officially' hit 100.

But I don't think its farfetched to think they might be a little jacked up

Zumaya hit 107 on the gun in Spring Training......even if that's jacked-up, that is just sick.
