Anyone wanna way in on whether or not the PMC's (private military companies) in Iraq are Mercenaries.

The funny thing is that the cops in your town use hollow point bullets and for safety reasons, since those bullets fragmentate more easily, they wont go thru the original target and hit someone else.

The mercenaries in Afghanistan weren't bound to anything. They did whatever the hell they wanted, of course they were contracted by the government, but if they were ever taken their identities were denied and all that crap.

They were ghost people. Same with the CIA folks there. I'm sure it doesn't work the same in Iraq with a lot more eyes to see what is going on.

They also won't go through most walls and other solid objects.

Yeah, from what I understand it was the same in Iraq for quite a while. Then all kinds of videos started popping up on YouTube of private contractors just wasting anything that moved. This triggered a lot of investagations and a lot of private contractors are being fried.

I find it odd that the private contractor element has been completely removed from the scope of the media. From 1000 of them that have been killed, to their complete and utter violations of ROE in theatre. I can't figure it out.

These people are going to jail.

From what I know of the situation, these people aren't considered US citizens, or citizens of anything for that matter, while they are on the job and on contract. That way they aren't really bound by any rules or laws. Hence, mercenaries. I don't really know how it would work for us to reel them in if they caused some kind of violation. I doubt if very many people do know the truth of it.
