....according to you?
I bring this topic up after several people have taken it upon themselves to make innacurate assumptions about others, whichlater explode into hyperbole.
ie: You are a republican, fucking fascist you brought us into this war.
You are a democrat, fucking pussy, its all Clinton's fault.
You are a libertarian, fucking what the fuck stop wasting my time.
You are a communist, I am part of the 95% of the population who lack
the capacity to accurately to describethis as an institution, but fuck
you anyway.
I am not at all interested in regurgitated opinions of pundits, I would like to simply hear 4 or five issues and your positions on them (hopefully with some justification).

I don't quite understand this thread. Are you asking what assumptions we might make regarding certain political labels?
Not exactly.
edzeppe was pretty close, I dont want your assumptions based on someones party affiliation. I was hoping someone would list several concepts they feel strongly about which helps explain their position.

I prefer risk, and I cannot asess your affiliation based on your previously stated positions.
I am also Anti-Union (they have outlived their usefulness).
I am anti- censorship (to an extent- I thought Janet Jackson's breast was overhyped, but also a valid complaint, because parents had no reason to expect it).
(risk takes too many people to a be a lot of fun.. and we seem to be the only 2 here)

Hey, DBF. I thought this thread was about ELIMINATING labels.
FOR:
Wealth redistribution through taxation to fund social and educational programs.
Gay marriage.
Extensive international cooperation.
Science over religion IN EVERY CASE.
Expansive interpretation of the Constitution and Bill of Rights.
Environmentally friendly energy policies.
AGAINST:
War on Drugs.
Unilateralism.
Mixing of church and state.
Mandatory minimum sentencing guidelines.
Religious Fundamentalism of all flavors.
That's a good start.

Look at all the things you're for and then you say you're against big government.

This appears to be the "winning" way to form my answer
The things I'm for:
Death Penalty
More states' rights/less federal government intrusions
2nd Amendment
Environment (within reason)
The stuff I'm against:
Gun control/gun registration in all its forms - a disgusting way for the gov't to be in complete and utter control with no fear of citizen reprisal
The U.N. being in the U.S.
Basically just the U.N. in general
Abortion (with a few exceptions - don't those always pop up?)
War on Marijuana (not cause I partake, but because it's a waste of time, money, and resources/manpower - outlawing hard stuff I have no problem with)
Out-of-control/erroneous law suits ("Well, I broke into his house and hurt my ankle. I want $250,000!)
Federal income taxes
Pearl Jam not going on tour when I damn well want them to!

I tried that at first and no one cared to reply, so I derailed my own thread, thanks for putting it back on the tracks.
For: Flat Federal Income Tax
Stem Cell Research
Seperation of Church and State, where science takes precedence
Education reform (NOT "no child left behind)
Absolute freedom of expression in regards to language and literature
Electoral College
Against: Socialized Healthcare
Social Security as a means of retirement
The Welfare State
Gun Control
School Vouchers
Current Defense spending
Affirmative Action
I have no discernable opinion on:
Gay Marriage (I think its absurd but I dont see any reason for it to be illegal either)
Abortion (fluctuates day to day)
