moving from the south to the north east can't possibly be anything but a great idea.

as much as i know my man KC likes Austin, i'll go ahead and say this may wind up a great move but it'll be tough at first. you ever lived in Yankee-land, Costner?

Dude you will not get any pussy if you move up here. If all you need if your gf, then fine, prepare to have a great time.
I travel between Boston and NYC often, and I understand the major and minor differences by now. NYC is intense as hell, friendly people, and the best clothes you'll never find. Boston has that sense of community you won't find anywhere else. It's literally run by college kids. As much as I'm sick of this place, Boston has the most beautiful summers I've ever seen. I think you'll adapt well.

My experience is that Boston is great as long as you don't start a conversation with anybody under 24, and NYC is great as long as you like doing shit that you can do in any town over 200,000 but taking twice as long to do so.
But Texas....fuck that place. Fuck. It. I spent two summers there and I would rather jerk off homeless Bostonian dropouts into my coffee each morning than live in Texas.

You should NOT move to Boston. there are a million reasons. I will list a few.
Sports & Concert tickets are A BITCH to get, no matter what. the roads are shitty & the traffic sucks. winter sucks our state government & programs SUCK ! everything is too expensive. the wormen are all stuck up snobs (ok 99%)
We are trying to figure out how to move to Phoenix, AZ as we speak. we went there for a week last year & could not believe we were living the way we are after seeing how much better it is there.
I will tell you the upsides of MA:
Pearl Jam OWNS up here. We get the best shows - hands down. but i have family & can plan trips accordingly

What about my car? Would it be worth it to bring it?
what can you afford is the question- rent is likely to range from 1200 to 2500 a month depending on what and where you want to live, and some plaes are going to be a lot better/worse than others- do you want to live alone? have roommates? how much money do you think you'll be able to make- or what kind of job- have you been sending out resumes? do you ahve a degree that will help increase your salary? will you be living with your girl? will she be making money or just in school?
Living in a place like Boston has it's up and downsides, and it can be a struggle depending on what you expect, but I think there's a lot of benefits to living in this state (I've been here 20 years I think) but it can get very expensive and you constantly have to be aware of what your budget will allow you to afford.
Bring a car unless you plan to be right in the city (or surrounding burbs) because while there's a commuter rail here, both that and the bus lines tend to get pretty crappy the further out or Boston you go so a car is nearly essential if you want to be able to go places.

This has been very helpful thanks.
I plan on moving in with Sunny, and he said I can borrow his car and his razors, and I don't have to pay for utilities.
