I'm quite partial to Royal Tenenbaums. I'd have to say I've watched it 20+ times now. I just saw The Life Aquatic today and loved it. With Rushmore and Bottlerocket in his past. Good lord, I can't wait for his next film.

Discuss you're favorite Wes film. I thought he was deserving of his own thread.

I swear he directed Napoleon Dynamite under another name.

i love Wes Anderson. Bottlerocket is such an amazing, but incredibly simple film. I thought it was funny that he pretty much used the exact same chase scene in Tenenbaums as he did in Bottlerocket (Dignan and the police in BR and Eli and Chas in Tenenbaums)...The Life Aquatic was pure comedy to me. I love how dark but brilliant it was. So random too.

On the topic, Luke is about to put out a movie that he directed, wrote and stars in. That's bound to be like a Wes Anderson film.

do you mean Owen? or is it really luke? ive seen many an interview with luke and, bless his heart, he just doesn't strike me as a very thought provoking human being.

anywho. why yes, Wes is definitely one of my favorite film makers. Life Aquatic could be his best work yet. ive seen it 4 times and it gets so much better with each viewing. the man, he just CANT do wrong. he cant. period. PERIOD GODDAMNIT.

I love his movies. I love the subtle humour in them. One example is the exchange between murray and the girl on Life Aquatic. about how he got into her room. The subtle, deadpan way the actors say things just strike me as hilarious. I know it's hit and miss as alot of people don't find it funny AT ALL. It's sort of similar to my love of Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang. It seems to be a pretty polar movie as well.

I went through a period earlier this year where I watched Zissou every other day for about a month.

Darjeeling Limited won't disappoint

I did the same last year. Or maybe it was the year before. Shit, I don't know, but The Life Aquatic is my favorite movie and I still put it on pretty often. I really need to check out more of Wes Anderson's films.

if you like Life Aquatic but haven't seen his other ones...I'd go: Bottle Rocket, Tenenbaums, Rushmore

Cool. I have seen a few minutes of the beginning of Tenenbaums. Looked like it was setting up to be a pretty funny movie.

My favorite filmmaker of all time.

Royal Tennenbaums my favorite movie of all time.

Darjeeling Limited... I have the script but am resisting the temptation to read it.

Probably the best Texan director. Rushmore is my favorite of his, without a doubt.

I love Rushmore and Tenenbaums, but think Bottle Rocket is overrated. And I haven't seen Aquatic yet.

I liked Tenenbaums, but none of the others have done much for me.

People should stop hyping his films so goddamned much and then maybe I won't be disappointed by them every time.

i really like Bottle Rocket, The Life Aquatic is ok too... don't care that much for Rushmore though i could watch it again sometime in the future but the RT do absolutely nothing for me except the cinematography and Gene Hackman.

The guy has yet to make a masterpiece in my opinion though he is very, very talented.I'm hoping the Darjeeling Limited could perhaps be it. Also, his use of music in all his films is superb, perhaps better than Tarantino.

i don't get this kinda comment, you know what you're getting with wes... he's done perfect movies but if its not your thing.

rushmore or bottlerocket are his most universal movies, i think rushmore is the absolute most accessible
