I have had an external Hard Drve hooked up for 7 months and today my pc said " power surge on hub port" and would not let me access my drive... i checked with dell (i have an e1705 laptop) and i got the error message to go away but i still cant seem to access the drive.. any solutions? thanks
you might have to go to computer management and force it to recognize it. have you tried putting the external on someone elses PC just to see if it does indeed still work?
How would i go about forcing it to work? what would be the steps?
id be too scared to try to teach you over the net, cause if it frys, i dont want ya pissed at me. but go to administrative tools, computer management and see if its showing up at all on there
