this is probably even sadder than chinese democracy. by all accounts, this guy has dozens of amazing songs written and recorded, many of them supposedly better than there she goes and he still won't release a second album.

now a commercial jingle.
What for?
I just googled it, it's used for a birth control commercial- Ortho Tri-cyclen LO
I heard it about 2 weeks ago and about fell out of my chair laughing. These guys threw fits when the song first came out because (if I remember correctly) there was a differently produced version of the song being played in the USA, and they thought it was horrible or something- so much for musical pride when you need cash, I guess.

Yea, I'm not really sure what kind of involvement they had with the song being released with the commercial. The singer pretty much cut off all ties with the music world because the label released the album without his permission. He did come back for a reunion tour probably for cash a few years ago but only played The Who covers, so I don't think he cares much.

I take it that the lead singer or someone in the band said this? That's funny, because I just always thought it was a straight-up pop tune about infatuation after Sixpence None the Richer covered it.

I'm pretty certain it's been out of print for a long time. I think it was released in '93?
Yeah, it's relatively old. Shame, cause I really want to own it.
They never really took off in the States, but it does have a cult following...perhaps Rhino will pick it up one of these days and give everyone a nice, fat reissue.
Billtop, you can't find it on any sites for download? Not as good as having the actual CD in hand, but hey...it's something, right?

I read somewhere today that it was rereleased as a digital remaster but probably just in the UK.
To Frank, I don't know if anyone in the band ever said it was heroin. I think everyone always just assumed it because the lyrics make sense and the singer had some serious drug problems after they got big.
There's some great unreleased stuff out there. A lot of people think the second album, if it ever comes out, will be better than their debut.
Description 'The La's' is the eponymous debut album from the influential Liverpool band of the same name. Whilst this is the only album that the band ever released, its distinctive mix of 60's beat pop melodies and dogstar-style guitars has been influential on many bands since its release, most notably Oasis. This remastered version includes several bonus tracks alongside the singles 'There She Goes' and 'Timeless Melody'.
1. Son Of A Gun 2. I Can't Sleep 3. Timeless Melody 4. Liberty Ship 5. There She Goes 6. Doledrum 7. Feelin' 8. Way Out 9. IOU 10. Freedom Song 11. Failure 12. Looking Glass 13. All By Myself 14. Clean Prophet 15. Knock Me Down 16. Over 17. IOU

Sixpence none the richer are a Christian band, they had no idea what the song was about.
I think when you take a look at the first two verses it becomes clear as to what he's referring to:
There she goes There she goes again Racing through my brain And I just can't contain This feeling that remains
There she blows There she blows again Pulsing through my veins And I just can't contain This feeling that remains

Oh no, I've got the mp3's. I'd just like a hard copy.
