Teenagers lined up, killed in New Jersey

August 6, 2007 - 6:54AM

Three teenagers were killed and one wounded when they were lined up against a wall in a school parking lot in New Jersey and shot in the head, authorities said.

One female, Ofemi Hightower, and two males, Terrance Aeriel and Deshawn Harvey, were killed, said prosecutor's office spokesman Paul Loriquet, who did not know their ages. Aeriel's 19-year-old sister, Natasha, was in fair condition at a hospital.

"All four were good kids," Loriquet said. He said three of them had student identification from Delaware State University.

No-one has been arrested, and investigators have no information on a motive.

Ummm... when I saw the news report last night, I thought the lack of talk about it might've been because they were *cough*black*cough*

Ugh, I really hate to say this, but I had the exact same thought that Clubber and spuds did when I saw this report.

I know there's an article linked on here somewhere that showed how a missing black woman didn't get nearly the attention that the Natalee Holloway fiasco did.

i didn't notice the race thing, but that's even more depressing than my original point. :(

i DONT think it has anything to do with race, or at the very least not nearly as much as people here are making it out to be.

the thread title is a bit misleading, after columbine, this isnt really a school shooting per se (atleast in that league)

the fact that before these 4 were shot and 3 killed, there had already been 50 and some odd number of murders in that part of joisy. has this been three homeless guys, this wouldnt even be a thread

I watched the news for 15 minutes yesterday at the most, and saw this story at least 3 times......

yeah this is not really a school shooting at all in the way that term is usually used. it's an inner city murder, which are unfortunately all too commonplace.

on the front page of CNN btw, not sure why anyone would think it's not getting any press.

I believe the cable news TV people are telling us that it might be gang related and that witnesses will probably be hard to come by due to intimidation.

well hopefully at least the survivor can identify suspects. almost definitely seems like it would be gang related, given the execution style nature of the killings.

I don't think anyone besides me made the connection, but I found it funny that they mentioned that one of the victims was on myspace at one point that evening.

Apparently the guy who did this was an illegal alien who had previously been charged with raping an underage girl and threatening to kill her family, but was released.

Cue O'Reilly rant tonight, then. Too bad I'll be watching Broncos-49ers instead.

Y'know, we really shouldn't allow rapists and murderers to come to this country.
