Europe has an unfair advantage with all of their historic buildings. Not to say that is the sum of the issue, but they do have at least that leg up on us. We shoulda bombed more of them during WWII, just to even the playing field.

I find Moab, Utah more inspiring than any building in Europe.
I find watching the sun sink behind the Pacific Ocean while sitting on a beach on the Oregan to be prettier than anything Europe can offer, except maybe some of their girls.
I think in spending time hiking the Allegany Mtn trail (sic) that you'll find more natural beauty than all of Europe has to offer.
Maybe Europe felt the need to try to create beautiful buildings only after they raped the continent of just about every beautiful thing to be found in nature.
Some cities are pretty because they've managed to retain dome of their natural beauty. Cities like San Diego and Seattle. Other cities are pretty for their vibes, Boston and New your City come to mind.

I did say just about.
To me the main parts of Europe (France, Italy, Germany, Poland) have very little natural beauty left. If you think it exceeds America's then we just find different things beautiful. And almost everyone of those shots were not taken in a city.

Why no love for the Pacific side of the country? Are we not good enough for you?
Apparently my parents didn't feel the need to expose me to Pacific culture.

Out of the major American cities I've been to - and this includes almost the entire midwest, parts of the south, parts of the northeast, and parts of the west, 95% of towns are cultureless slabs of glass and concrete with ugly suburban strip malls and corporate eatery.
And out of every city I've been to (and again this doesn't include the southwest, pacific coast, and northwest) I'd only consider living in Chicago or New York. I hear good things about places like Austin and San Fransisco but I doubt I'd only visit once or twice.
I studied film, but LA also sounds like a shithole.

I know, right? Not exactly the most wise of career decisions. That's why I'll end up moving to NY.

your first post said the natural beauty of the USA was better- so g_v showed you natural beauty in Europe.
also, you've obviously never been to Italy if you think the main parts of the country have very little natural beauty left. There's gorgeous areas all over the place there that are natural.

Actually I agree with the poster that said cities are ugly and American cities are no exception. I do not find European cities any less ugly than Amrican cities.
I do think that America has an abundance of natural beauties. Europe may have some but I believe America and North America especially has more and a wider variety; from the frozen north, to the Grand Canyon, the numerous mountain ranges, two oceans, to the sands of Hawaii.
