Man, just watched the pilot last night. One of the best pilots in years.
Impressive, they really mixed the drama and comedy very well.
Im looking forward to check this show.

Californication is an upcoming Showtime 12-part mini-series production created by Tom Kapinos and starring David Duchovny as Hank Moody, a troubled novelist whose obsessions with sex and drugs interfere with his personal and professional lives, as well as the relationships with his ex-wife Karen (Natascha McElhone) and daughter Becca (Madeleine Martin).

Got to watch it yesterday, and I thought it was pretty good. I think it has more promise with its drama than with its comedy. Yeah, the sex jokes and excessive boobies did make me giggle, but I think Dave can play the mid-life crisis/family drifting away guy very well, so I can't wait to see how they further that storyline.
On another note: man, am I glad I didn't watch this on the train! I watch TV shows on my iPod during my commute all the time, but I'm positive people around me would've thought I was watching porn.
And gotta love that MMJ at the end! Kickass!

Sounds like the same premise as "Rescue Me" but that's okay (Since Rescue Me has went down hill and this is fresh and new). I'm the biggest Mulder fan there is and I don't mind DD getting a chance to show his talents as an actor, and he clearly doesn't get enough attention. But Psychobain, how did you watch this already? It starts August 13th
I watched this last night and I thought DD was great. He plays the tortured middle-aged man so well, even with his thinning hair. I could have done with a few less tits though.
