I love this chick. Her live Sinnerman is incredible. I Want a Little Sugar in My Bowl is probably my favorite track, but I've got about 70 tracks by her in my iTunes.

I recently had to make a playlist of about 200 songs for the restaurant/folk art gallery I work at. Blues/Jazz/Older country were the very broad genres I was going to dig in to. A couple of hours into a severe downloading spree I discovered Nina Simone, who I had heard of before through the Buckley etc. connections.
I couldn't really even listen to anything else afterwards. The playlist eventually didn't get done for about two weeks, because I literally just had no desire to put on anything but Nina Simone. The woman's voice is unbelievable. At Town Hall is my favorite so far, but i'm still very much getting into her.
Nina Simone + Sam Cooke. Anytime I rediscover one, I somehow end up at the other. They don't have that much in common, but they're such VOICES. So when I start with one, I don't listen to anything other than the set for a couple of weeks.
