I've never used the online capabilities of playstation 2, but I'm a big fan of MLB The Show and want to use the internets to update my rosters. Do I need to buy anything for the playstation to get this to work? I tried simply plugging in ethernet cable to my ps2 and it didn't recognize a connection. Sorry if this has been addressed before as I am to lazy to search.

yeah you need that thing in the link..ya gotta screw it on the back, plug the cable in, and enter your regular net account info..you set up a user profile and you can play games over the net right from there

For the new slimmer PS2s you don't need that box adaptor, because the ethernet cable can be plugged right into the back of the unit.
Usually when I plug my ethernet cable into my PS2, I have to reset my modem so that it recognizes that I have it plugged into another unit instead of the computer.
